Governor Mike DeWine launched CyberOhio in September 2016 during his time as Ohio Attorney General. CyberOhio is a collection of cybersecurity initiatives aimed at helping Ohio businesses fight back against cyber attacks.
Today, CyberOhio is a branch of InnovateOhio, led by Lt. Governor Jon Husted. The initiative remains committed to providing innovative technology solutions and to helping Ohioans and Ohio job creators maintain technology infrastructure and data in a safe and secure manner.
CyberOhio Advisory Committee
CyberOhio is led by an Advisory Committee that is made up of over 20 cybersecurity industry experts and business leaders. The Advisory Committee provides guidance for the initiative and holds formal meetings each quarter that are open to the public and is led by Kirk M. Herath, Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at Nationwide Insurance.
The Advisory Committee contains representatives from all parts of the cybersecurity industry. Large industry members such as Cardinal Health and The Wendy’s Company are represented on the Board.Leading educational institutions like The Ohio State University and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law are also part of the Advisory Committee. Small business interests such as XLN Systems and TCDI also hold Advisory Committee seats.
